I am currently stationed in Baghdad, Iraq as a Judge Advocate (JAG) with the U.S. Army, and I have been in Baghdad since mid April right after the collapse of the former regime. My job in Baghdad is to work with the Iraqi Ministry of Justice to help reconstruct the local courts and allow them to operate as a fully functional and independent justice system.
Upon my arrival, I initially lived at the Baghdad International Airport in the duty free shop. Shortly thereafter, I moved to a palace compound near the Airport where we lived until August. Now I live and work near the Republican Palace, which is right in the middle of the city. Even though I work with many Iraqis (and therefore my whereabouts are not secret), I still think it wise not to announce my exact location in cyberspace.
Anyway--check out my blog and other links to learn more about what I do and to experience with me the wonders, excitement, and nerves of living in Baghdad!
